How to Exclude Medline Results in Web of Science

Step 1: Go to the Ebling Library homepage and scroll down to the Databases list. Select Web of Science, the last one in the list.

Step 2: This will take you to the Web of Science homepage. On the homepage next to "Search In," you will want to use the drop-down menu to select All Databases. 

Step 3: After selecting All Databases, enter your search terms and hit return.

Step 4: You will now get your results. In order to refine these search results by database scroll down until you get to the Database box on the left-hand side of your screen. Then click “See all" below the list of database names.

Step 5: On this screen you first want to select the database you want to exclude: in this case MEDLINE. After selecting this, click the “Exclude” button and your search results should automatically update.

Step 6: Now go back to the Databases box on the left-hand side to refine only to Web of Science results. Then click “See all" below the list of database names.

Step 7: Select Web of Science Core Collection and then click the "Refine" button.

Your search results should automatically update to show only Web of Science results now.
