The American Association of Law Libraries Awards Program publicly recognizes the achievements of law librarians based on service to the profession and contributions to legal literature and materials. For some awards, such as the Joseph L. Andrews Legal Literature Award and Public Access to Government Information Award, recipients need not be law librarians or members of AALL.

Designed to honor an "emerging clinician," the M. Shanara Gilbert Award is for a recent entrant (10 years or fewer) into clinical legal education. It is one of three awards presented by the AALS Section on Clinical Legal Education

The Ellmann Memorial Clinical Scholarship Award is designed to recognize a scholar whose body of work exemplifies the values, vision and impact of the work of Stephen J. Ellmann. This award aims to recognize mid-level clinicians (years 10-25 of their career in the academy). It is one of three awards presented by the AALS Section on Clinical Legal Education

The purpose of the William Pincus Award is to honor individuals, groups, or institutions for effecting an outstanding contribution to the cause of clinical legal education. It is one of three awards presented by the AALS Section on Clinical Legal Education

The Association of Academic Support Educators Excellence Awards recognize the meaningful work that academic support educators do for their students, for the legal profession, and for one another. The purpose of the awards is not just to recognize outstanding contributions to the academic support community over the course of a long career, but also to recognize the significant contributions of early- and mid-career academic support professors.

This award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the collaboration of the academy, the bench, and the bar.

The ALL-SIS Book Award recognizes a significant textual contribution to legal literature. The textual work may be a book or an edited work. Nominations for the Book Award shall be measured by the creative, evaluative elements and the extent to which originality and judgment were factors in the formation of the work. The term book’ is meant to be broadly defined, and includes works that: 1) are bibliographical in nature, listing the works of a particular author, printer, or country, or a particular theme; or 2) contribute to advancing legal research or law librarianship.

The ALL-SIS Digital Publication Award recognizes a significant contribution to legal literature that is born and remains digital. A non-exhaustive list of formats which might be considered for the award include: exhibition catalog, library catalog, users guide, blog post, bibliography, webpage, or research guide.

The Frederick Charles Hicks Award for Outstanding Contributions to Academic Law Librarianship recognizes an individual or group that has made outstanding contributions to academic law librarianship through continued efforts to improve law librarianship. The award is presented annually at the discretion of the Awards Committee.

The ALL-SIS Outstanding Article Award recognizes members contributions to the enhancement of academic law librarianship through the publication of scholarly articles.

The Academic Law Libraries-SIS Outstanding Service Award honors an ALL-SIS member who has made outstanding contributions to ALL-SIS in areas of section activity and in professional service.

The ABF invites scholars to join their intellectual community throughout the year, as space allows, on a visiting and temporary basis. We encourage national and international scholars on leave or sabbatical to take advantage of our diverse sociolegal community and excellent facilities. We offer an office or workspace, telephone, and library access, but no stipend.

The ABF William H. Neukom Fellows Research Chair in Diversity and Law is a year-long visiting position. The Neukom Chair is an outstanding scholar with a distinguished record of scholarship in law and the social sciences who conducts empirical research on diversity and law, broadly conceived.

Since 1961, Scribes has presented an annual award for the best work of legal scholarship published during the previous year. The Scribes Book-Award Committee generally receives between 40 and 50 nominees each year. The Scribes Book Award is presented at Scribes' annual meeting.

The EDUCAUSE Awards Program recognizes professional accomplishments in higher education IT from technology, academic, industry, and campus leaders. There are four awards available: The Leadership Award, the Community Leadership Award, the DEI Leadership Award, and the Rising Star Award.

The Kenneth J. Hirsh Distinguished Service Award honors a Legal Innovation & Technology SIS member who has made outstanding contributions to the SIS, to the American Association of Law Libraries, and who is well regarded for their service to the profession.

The Olin-Searle-Smith-Darling Fellows in Law program will offer top young legal thinkers the opportunity to spend one to two years working full time on writing and developing their scholarship with the goal of entering the legal academy.

The purpose of the award is to recognize excellence in writing by a current Research Instruction & Patron Services Special Interest Section member. The award was named in honor of Paul Gatz in 2020 who encouraged deep thinking about what it means to be a librarian, how best to teach legal research, and what roles libraries play.

The PLEDGE Fellowship is an 18-month professional development program and intervention-based research project sponsored by AccessLex Institute and the Southern Education Foundation. The fellowship targets experienced law school administrators, faculty members, or other similarly situated and experienced professionals. Teams of two fellows will undertake intervention-based research projects, called Capstones, focusing on one of the following three topical strands: Admission and Access, Academic Performance, or Bar Exam Performance

The Renee D. Chapman Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions in Technical Services Law Librarianship is presented to an individual or group in recognition of achievement in an area of technical services, for services to the Association, or for outstanding contributions to the professional literature.

To accelerate content development and showcase talent from various parts of the legal profession, the Scribes Board has created the Inaugural Scribes Fellows Program to attract attorneys, judges, academics, and librarians willing to produce original, engaging content related to legal writing. For the inaugural year, which will run from June 2023 through May 2024, Scribes will select up to three Fellows.

The Libraries Staff Service Awards, which is inclusive of all UW Madison campus libraries, recognize service in the following areas:
• Exemplary working relationships with library colleagues and/or library patrons
• Contributions to establishing a welcoming and inclusive learning and research environment
• High productivity coupled with teamwork, leadership, and/or cooperation
• Creativity, initiative, and independence that positively influences library services
• Achievements and work products that significantly benefit library services.
One academic staff member, one university staff member, and up to four student staff will be recognized.
