How to find Francophone Studies books
By region
Use the corresponding call numbers to browse for Francophone literature in the Library Catalog or in the Stacks:
- Europe (not France) - PQ3810-3890
- Canada - PQ3900-3919.3
- Caribbean - PQ3940-3949.3
- Asia - PQ3960-3979.3
- Africa - PQ3980-3989.3
- Oceania - PQ3990-3999
By genre
Substitute the following words for "literature" in the subject headings to search by genre:
- Fiction
- Poetry
- Drama
e.g., French-Canadian fiction; West Indian poetry (French).
Use the subheading "History and criticism" to find secondary literary criticism about a particular literature or author.
e.g., African drama (French)--History and criticism
Francophone E-books
Our library's catalogue search function will also offer full-access or limited-access to certain works in e-book format on databases such as Proquest Ebook Central and Project Muse.
If we don't have the book...
Try using Interlibrary Loan.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) offers free access to materials needed for coursework and scholarly research which are not currently available within the UW-Madison or UW System collections. This service is limited to UW-Madison faculty, staff and students.
