Slavic and East European studies encompass materials from and about Russia, Belarus and Ukraine and the East European countries, the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania), the successor countries of the former Yugoslavia, as well as Albania, Georgia, Armenia and modern Greece (post AD 1453).
Central Asian Studies cover the countries of Central Asia including Afghanistan and Mongolia. Modern Turkey (post AD 1453) including the Anatolian part of the Ottoman Empire is also covered. The numerous Turkic and Altaic ethnic groups outside of Central Asia proper are covered as well.
This collection includes materials from or about the regions in the areas of: history, literature, linguistics, sociology, anthropology, economics, political science, religion, ethnic and cultural studies, women’s studies, and film studies.
