The Genome Center of Wisconsin (GCW) was established at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1998. Located at 425 Henry Mall, it is a research center within the University of Wisconsin Biotechnology Center.
The Genome Center's 20 faculty members represent 23 departments, 5 schools and 3 centers within the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There are four main divisions of study: Genome Sequencing, Functional Genomics, Comparative Genomics, and Bioinformatics. Faculty members are involved in genomic research, graduate and undergraduate teaching, and pre- and post-doctoral training.
