Browse this guide to identify library resources to support your research, instruction, and study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Welcome from our Science & Engineering Libraries; let's get acquainted!

UW-Madison Libraries are partners throughout the life-cycle of research, teaching and learning.

To that end, we are available to work with you as you contribute to the scholarship of your discipline and engage with mentors, fellow students, collaborators and research partners.

Essential information:

  • The UW-Madison Libraries site (library.wisc.edu) will be the starting point for most of your searches, as well as for accessing links to our locations and services.
  • The library catalog is where you can find books, music, and more from among our collections.
  • The library database menu and article search enable you to find and retrieve articles and more.
  • Your Wiscard is your library card (for physical materials, if borrowing on-site).
  • Online materials are accessed using your NetID/password.
