Citing--Shortcuts

In the UW-Madison library catalog, at the record for the book you wish to cite, click "cite" to see the book information displayed in MLA or APA format.  NOTE: Automated citation generators are rarely completely accurate.  Confirm that the suggested citation is correct.

Attribution Reminder

When you use or refer to the ideas or creative work of another, you'll need to attribute those borrowings to the original author or artist.  Failure to do so--that is, to imply that those ideas are your own--is plagiarism.

Keep notes on the sources of ideas you read about.  Then documenting them in your paper will be easier.
