Citation Managers
Citation Managers such as EndNote, Mendeley, or Zotero are software tools for keeping track of your sources. You can use a citation manager to:
- Collect and store information about sources you plan to use
- Organize and keep track of your references
- Create a shared library of references for group projects or lab groups
- Automatically generate citations and reference lists in the style of your choice
The Libraries support the following citation managers:
Getting started with a citation manager can take some time and effort, but the Libraries provide documentation, workshops, consultations, and other support to help make that process more efficient.

LaTeX & BibTeX
If you use LaTeX, it may be simpler to track your sources and format your citations using BibTeX. Many citation managers can export into the BibTeX format, while others are specifically designed to work well with LaTeX editors.
