Provides an interactive and individualized tool which provides an absolute estimate (%) of a person's chance of having a cardiovascular event (CVD or CHD, or heart attacks or strokes or ASCVD - atherosclerotic CVD) over a specific period of time and an idea of the potential benefit of treatment. It is only valid for people who have never had a cardiovascular event.
This risk assessment tool uses data from the Framingham Heart Study to estimate the 10-year risk of having a heart attack (myocardial infarction) or death resulting from coronary heart disease (CHD) in adults age 20 or older who do not already have heart disease or diabetes.
Estimates the chance of an unfavorable outcome (such as a complication or death) after surgery. The risk is estimated based upon information the patient gives to the healthcare provider about prior health history. The estimates are calculated using data from a large number of patients who had a surgical procedure similar to the one the patient may have.
