Databases at the Law Library

  • Click on the "Databases" tab on the top left of the law library's website
  • You can browse the databases by name, or look at subject type for specific legal topics
  • You can also search for specific databases within the law library databases if you know the name of one you'd like to use.
  • Research guides can often point you in the right direction for a database in a particular subject area.
  • UW-Madison has access to hundreds of databases. You can search these by title or description.
  • You can also browse UW-Madison databases by subject/title. This is especially good for situations when you are researching the intersection of law AND something (e.g., "law and literature", "law and public policy", etc)- you might find some excellent resources that are not listed in the law library's databases but might still contain relevant information for your topic.
