Researching Legal Topics : Staying Current

Tips on legal research for seminar papers and law review articles for law students.

Setting Up Alerts

To ensure your research is current, you can set up an alert to monitor for changes in case law, legislation, regulations, and articles on your topic.  For example, I have set up an alert to monitor any mention of the UW Law School on the Internet.  If you are working with case law, don't forget to keycite or shepardize your case for changes before you publish your article.  Statutes and regulations can also be keycited or shepardize for updates to the law.
