Law Library Suggestions and Feedback Spring 2022 : Spaces for talking and collaboration in the Law Library

Spaces for talking and collaboration in the Law Library

Just like with food in the Library, we often get requests for locations for talking in the library and requests for more quiet space. We try to balance these two needs by maintaining most of the library as quiet study space, but several spaces that have closed doors allow for quiet collaboration.

The two former computer labs on the 2nd floor (they are now called study labs!) are spaces that allow for quiet talking and collaboration. If you have a group that needs to work together, this space will work great for you. We are happy to encourage talking in these spaces, but keep in mind that your voices may carry. Be sure to use "library voices" while working together!

In addition, there are always our 8 study rooms. These rooms can be checked out for 4 hours per day per person and provide great study space for small groups as well. You can reserve rooms up to two weeks ahead of time using our Study Room grid.

Hopefully this does indeed give you that much-needed collaboration space while also preserving the majority of library space for our in-demand quiet study area.
