LaTeX Guide : UW-Madison Templates

This guide includes links to software, tutorials, and templates to get you started using LaTeX typesetting and citing souces with BibTeX.

Dissertation templates

Use these templates at your own risk. There is no official LaTeX template from the Graduate School. It is your responsibility to make sure that your dissertation meets all of the UW Madison dissertation requirements, or else it will not be accepted.

UW-Madison Dissertation Requirements
The Graduate School's guide to writing and formatting your dissertation. Not LaTeX specific, but your completed dissertation will need to meet these requirements.
Advanced LaTeX Short Course
A Math Department short course on advanced LaTeX last taught in 2006, includes a sample thesis.
Memorial Library Template
Modifies the WI-thesis template to add committee members to the title page. Requires version 5.6 or newer of the geometry package to work. Created in 2012, no longer supported.
