6. लालबहादुर शास्त्री / Lālabahādura Śāstrī

SUMMARY: लालबहादुर शास्त्री / Lālabahādura Śāstrī tells the story of freedom fighter and second Prime Minister of the Republic of India in Hindi. He was known for having promoted the White Revolution, an effort to increase milk production throughout India in an effort to create self-sufficiency in the newly independent country. While in office, he also led the Second Indo-Pakistan War, and showed support to both farmers and soldiers, using the slogan Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan (Hail to the Soldier, Hail to the Farmer). Shastri saw the formal end of the war on January 10, 1966, and died the next day. 

7. Kannagi : her love conquers all

SUMMARY: Love Conquers All tells the story of Kannagi, who was a legendary protagonist of the Tamil epic tale, Cilappatikaram. It allows readers to learn about cultures from other regions of what is now India. Kannagi is heralded for her chastity despite her husband’s infidelity. She also avenged the unjust death of her husband, resulting in the destruction of the city of Madurai, ruled by the unjust Pandyan King, who put him to death. 

8. Famous Sikh gurus

SUMMARY: Famous Sikh Gurus tells the story of the 10 founding gurus of Sikhism who altered the history of Panjab. This region now lies in both western India and eastern Pakistan. Sikhism brought forth new changes in ideals, including gender equality, monotheism, as well as new forms of honor and equality. It ushered in many cultural changes in the region and subcontinent.
