BrowZine : Getting access to "No Full Text" articles

Ebling Library guide for BrowZine

Getting access to a "No Full Text" article

Most often BrowZine will link you directly to the article you would like to read. However, there are some instances where this is not the case. Sometimes, the article you would like may have an embargo placed on it or there may be a broken link. In these situations you can request the article through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). To do this you can follow the instructions below for either the app or web-based version.

Step 1: Go to the article you would like to download. If there is no full text a box will pop up that reads, "your library does not have the full text." Copy the title article (ctrl+c) or write it down. You will then want to click the text that reads "link to library home page."

This is a screengrab of the web-based BrowZine. It displays at article and it reads "Your library does not have the full text of: article name." This portion is circled in red. Below this there is text that reads "link to the library home page," which is also circled in red. This is a screen grab of the online version of an unavailable article. The title of the article is circled in red at the top of the page. At the bottom there is a orange bar that reads "The article has no immediately available text." to the right of this is a button circled in red that reads "Library home page."

Step 2: This link should direct you to the Ebling Library home page. Click on the tab that reads "Article Search" and paste in your article (ctrl+v) or type in the title.

Step 3: This should bring you to a result page where you should be able to request the article if it is not in the UW Madison library system. Click on the correct article result and then click on the text that says "Request a copy."

This is a screen grab of the results from the article search. Only one result showed up for the article. Circled in red is text that reads "Article: Requestable."      This is the screengrab of clicking into the result search for an ILL article. The title is on the left-hand side of the page and on the right is a button that reads "Request a copy," which is circled in red.

Step 4: You will then be prompted to enter your NetID. This should direct you to the ILL request page. Make sure the fields are filled out correctly and that you have entered your email. Then hit "Submit Request" at the bottom of the page.

This is a screengrab of an article request form for ILL. It has all of the fields that need to be filled out for an article, including title, volume, series, pages, and author.
