BrowZine : Building a bookshelf

Ebling Library guide for BrowZine

About your bookshelf

BrowZine is a powerful searching tool for academic journals, but it is also a powerful space to save articles and journals that you will need at a later time. Building a bookshelf should not be an extensive task. You can choose the journals you want to save and separate them by category or subject matter if you wish. In total, you have four bookshelves to work with. In each bookshelf you have four rows where four journals can be placed. That comes to a total of 16 journals per bookshelf for a total of 64 journals that can be kept on demand. The BrowZine app can also alert you when items on your bookshelf have new releases; for more information on getting notifications see the tab: Starting/Editing Notifications on BrowZine.

Building your bookshelf (app)

Step 1: Add as many journals as you would like to your bookshelf. For help on how to do this see the tab: Adding a journal to your bookshelf.

Step 2: After you have added the titles you want you can edit the names of both your bookcases and your shelves.

Step 3: To edit the names of your bookcases and shelves, simply press 'Edit', located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. This will open up a view that allows you to click directly into the labels for both the bookcase and the bookshelves to change the names. After you are finished click 'Done', located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

Building your bookshelf (web)

Step 1: Add as many journals as you would like to your bookshelf. For help on how to do this see the tab: Adding A Journal To Your Bookshelf.

Step 2: After you have added the titles you want you can edit the names of both your bookcases and your shelves.

Step 3: To edit the names of your bookcases and shelves, hover to the right of the bookcase or shelf you would like to edit. Click on the pencil icon to the right of the text and it should bring up a textbox where you can now edit the name. The process is the same for re-naming a specific shelf.

This is a screengrab with a personal bookshelf example. The first bookshelf is labeled Medical Journals and to the right of it is a pencil icon circled in red.
