LSC 360: Life Sciences Communication. Information Radio (Summer 2025) : Science News Resources - Find a Topic!
Looking for a topic in the news to explore? Start here!
Use the links below to find a topic that interests you and build your knowledge base.
A great place to start is the Opposing Viewpoints database linked below. Use the "Browse Issues" feature on the main page (look for the light bulb icon) for a list of topics. Each topic page will provide an overview of the issue and links to news articles, scholarly sources, and more.
For a quick overview of scientific discoveries from around the world, use EurekAlert! from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Find press releases about current research that provide summaries of the research, information about the scientists, and often links to the scholarly articles associated with the research.
Other resources for finding current topics are: the Pew Research Center which focuses on public opinion on many issues, including science and technology; the AP Newsroom for access to independent news reporting; and America Counts from the United States Census Bureau.

If you want to search for content in a specific newspaper, follow the instructions in the tutorial linked below.
