- American National BiographyThis online version of the preeminent print edition consists of approximately 19,000 biographies of well-known deceased Americans (loosely defined as someone whose significant actions occurred during his or her residence within what is now the United States, or whose life or career directly influenced the course of American history).he online version has many strengths, including being searchable full text and by birthplace, gender, birth/death dates, and occupations and realms of renown. Entries are also indexed within five special collections: Black History, Women's History, Asian Pacific-American Heritage, Hispanic Heritage, and American Indian Heritage. More than 2500 illustrations, lacking in the print, are available in the online version. Of special note is the inclusion of the contents of the Oxford Companion to United States History Encyclopedia, which allows for cross-references and adds context to the biographical entries.

- Current Biography IllustratedCurrent Biography contains the full text of more than 15,000 biographies and 9,400 obituaries that have appeared in Current Biography Yearbook since 1940. Numerous undated biographies and articles that have not appeared in print editions are also available. Current Biography includes artists, politicians, business people, journalists, actors, writers, sports figures, scientists, and other people prominent in the news.In addition, the articles are supplemented with recent citations from Biography Index. The profiles and obituaries are searchable by name, profession, place of origin, gender, race/ethnicity, date of birth or death, and keyword.
- Oxford Dictionary of National BiographyThe Oxford DNB contains more than 50,000 illustrated biographies of people who were noteworthy or influential in shaping Britain's past. The biographies do not include any living subjects, but starting in 2005, online updates will include those who have died since 2000.All 38,600 names in the original DNB have been included, but the majority have been completely rewritten in the light of new research. Each entry contains bibliographic information on material used to write the biography, details of a person's archives, a list of photographs or other illustrations, and (where available) an assessment of the subject's personal wealth at or near the time of death.
