The purpose of this research guide is to support understanding of the issue of marine debris (primarily plastic pollution) in the Great Lakes by addressing three essential questions: 

1. What is marine debris?
2. What are its impacts?
3. What can be done about it?

This research guide specifically addresses how the fashion industry intersects with microplastics and our growing understanding of microplastics within the Great Lakes.
