Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already part of academic life at UW-Madison. In consequence, it is vital for instructors and students to be literate in AI technologies. Long & Magerko (2020) define AI literacy as "a set of competencies that enables individuals to critically evaluate AI technologies; communicate and collaborate effectively with AI; and use AI as a tool online, at home, and in the workplace."
