The official source for Legislation from the central parliament is published in the Gazette of India. Legislation comes into force on the date it is published in the Gazette, or on the date mentioned in the text of the legislation. The offical Gazette is available from the Government of India.

Central and State Acts can also be found on India Code, a digital repository, going back to 1836.

Bills and Parliamentary Debates and Proceedings can be located on the Parliament of India Website:

Current Indian Statutes (S.D. Suri,) - Monthly periodical contains acts, rules and notifications of the central government and several of the states.

The A.I.R. manual (All India Reporter) - This set prints all federal statutes along with annotations to case law and secondary sources of law.

All India Reporter - Contains text of session laws fro the central parliament.
