Description of Board of Supervisors:

"The Dane County Board of Supervisors is a body of government comprised of 37 elected supervisors from each of the districts in the county. The Board acts similarly to the state legislature in that it is the policy-making body of the County government." (From Dane County Board of Supervisors home page)

Term of office: Dane County Supervisors serve two-year terms. Elections are held in the spring of even-numbered years.

  • On this page you can look up your supervisor...
    • By address: Enter your address or parcel number in the "Find address or PIN" box in the upper left corner of the map. A panel will pop up with your supervisor's name, and the number of the district you live in. Click on the corresponding district number on the left side of the screen to get contact information for your supervisor.
    • By district number: click on the number of a district in the list on the left side of the screen to get the name of and contact information for your supervisor.
  • Dane County Board of Supervisors: list of supervisors by district number, with links to pages for each supervisor, with contact information and committee assignments.

The County Executive is the head of the Executive Branch for Dane County government. The election for this position is held every four years in the spring.  The next election for County Executive is spring 2021.

    • Click the name of a body (committee, commission, board, etc) to get to a list of its members.
    • Click the "calendar" tab, just above the list of members, to see information about upcoming meetings of the body.
    • To see information about other bodies, click the name of the body near the top of the screen, and select another body from the menu.
