(International Social Work - Jan. 2014, 57(1), 75)The article discusses the movement of change following the attack of 15-year-old Malala Yousafzai on October 9, 2013 by the Taliban Islamic fundamentalist organization in Pakistan. The movement has to do with educating girls. Yousafzai becomes an international symbol of courage and hope as she doubles her efforts in pushing awareness for education in countries where access to schools has been denied. She also receives the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award from Harvard University.

It states that she was shot by the Taliban after she demands to go to school. According to United Nations special envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown, he and Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari talked regarding the plan to send five million out-of-school girls and boys in school in Pakistan.
