- Library of Congress Country StudiesOnline version of a series of books published between 1988 and 1998. Very useful as background. Each includes a summary of the history, society and economy (including agricultural sector) of the country. They were produced by the Federal Research Division, Library of Congress.
- U.S. Bilateral Relations Fact SheetsFact sheets from the U.S. Department of State about the land, people, history, government, political conditions, economy, and foreign relations of independent nations, as well as some dependencies and areas of special sovereignty.
- World FactbookBasic information on individual countries and territories. Includes geographic, political, social and economic facts and statistics, and the map and flag of each nation. Information is updated throughout the year.
