Your Assignments
You will be working on two assignments about a place. These assignments will require you to use primary and secondary sources, some of which may only be available through the UW-Madison Libraries website.
UW-Madison Libraries subscribes to over 1,500 subscription databases that provide access to articles that you can't find on Google.
Assignment Details:
Assignment 2: Like Sands Through an Hourglass: A Place Profile
You will choose a location with a rich history (e.g., a street, building, neighborhood or landmark). Then you will research the place's history using various sources (archives, newspapers, interviews with long-time residents).
Assignment 3: Be the Change You Want to See: Place-Based Problem-Solving
You will identify a location in Madison that could benefit from change or improvement. Then you will research the area's history, current uses, and challenges.
