Members and Non-members can both access HathiTrust through the digital library's homepage. Access varies depending on membership status.
Members: Include UW-Madison faculty, staff, and students through an institutional membership. In addition to the access granted to all users, members get benefits such as:
- The ability to download full PDFs of titles digitized by Google (95% of the collection)
- Access to advanced services for text and data analysis tools via the HathiTrust Research Center
- You can access these benefits by logging in at the top right of the HathiTrust Digital Library home page and selecting University of Wisconsin - Madison from the options
Non-members: Includes individuals not accessing HathiTrust through a member library as well as independent researchers, journalists, and genealogists.
- Non-members are able to download public domain and open access titles digitized by Google 1 page at a time
- Access to basic services for text and data analysis via the HathiTrust Research Center
- Individuals cannot become HathiTrust members
