Types of AI Tools
Developers design large language models around the idea that text can be converted into tokens. Because "Text" includes a lot of things beyond natural language, this has resulted in different types of LLM-powered generative AI tools, including those specializing in generating:
- images;
- audio;
- video;
- and code.
Some AI chatbots also feature retrieval-augmented (RAG) capabilities, in which text generation is combined with search engine functionality.
