Human Rights Law : Introduction

Guide to Human Rights Law & its governing bodies.

Human Rights Law Introduction

The UN adopted the Universal Human Rights Declaration in 1948 and since that time countries and international bodies have been adding to the fundamental rights of people.

Human Rights Law is governed by a variety of international laws, treaties, decisions and documents.  This guide is designed to support researchers in locating primary resources and secondary material on the topic of Human Rights law located at the law library, on the Web and in legal databases available on campus.

For non-legal information on specific topics, see the UW's Undergraduate Guides on human trafficking and refugees. These guides are a resource for non-legal material with a focus on current events, newspaper databases, statistics and pro/con topical research resources. Access to this guide can also be found under the Web Resources tab.
