What are author level metrics?

Profile image

Author level metrics attempt to provide insight into the quantity and/or quality of research outputted by individual researchers, departments, or institutions. There is a continuously increasing number of author level metrics to choose from, but two of the better known author level metrics include the h-index and publication counts.
