After determining which journals are a good fit for your manuscript, your next step is to evaluate those journals to ensure they are high quality.
Why is this important? Shouldn't all academic journals be high quality? Unfortunately, the answer is not always. In fact, some journals and even conferences make a profit from publishing low-quality content. These are known as predatory, or fraudulent, journals and conferences.
