COUN PSY 125: A Wisconsin Experience Seminar (Fall 2022) : Finding Sources

Finding Sources

You'll be conducting research throughout your college career and beyond. This page provides basic information about a variety of information sources available through UW-Madison Libraries. If you have questions about any of these sources and how they may be useful for your research, never hesitate to Ask a Librarian.

Books often provide background and comprehensive information about a topic.

Articles often provide more specific information about a topic. Your assignments may require you to find general interest magazine and newspaper articles, along with scholarly research articles.

Videos, especially documentaries, are excellent sources of background information.  Documentaries often cover controversial topics and include interviews and/or archival clips that can supplement your research. Below you'll find just a few examples of databases that include streaming videos.
