Find Background Info: Use Reference Sources

Reference sources such as encyclopedias and dictionaries can be useful for background information or an overview of a topic, definitions of specialized terminology, verification of historical facts, biographical information, and identification of references to other sources through bibliographies. In the boxes below are some examples of reference sources in the Libraries' collections.
