APA Style Guides
- APA Style Guide to Electronic References (APA)This PDF guide to formatting electronic references in APA Style is adapted from the Publication Manual of the APA (6th ed.). It outlines key elements for referencing electronic sources, especially the digital object identifier (DOI).

Tip: Click "Advanced Search." Choose “Review-Book” from the “Record Type” drop-down menu. - Google ScholarInterdisciplinary coverage of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities. Some important publishers are not included.
- PubMed1950-present (updated daily); indexes nearly 4,500 journals in medicine, life sciences, vet med, pharmacy; links to NCBI databases; use MESH for comprehensive searching.
- Psychiatry OnlineThe collection includes 15 reference books and four journals and includes the full text of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5)

- CINAHLCINAHL (Nursing and Allied Health) Plus with Full Text provides indexing for approximately 4,500 journals, covering the subjects of nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 other allied health disciplines. CINAHL Plus with Full Text also contains searchable cited references for more than 1,300 journals and provides full text for more than 750 journals and more than 250 books. The database also contains evidence-based care sheets, continuing education modules, and research instruments records. In addition, this database offers access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of practice, educational software, audiovisuals and book chapters. - Education Research CompleteEducation Research Complete is a bibliographic and full-text database covering scholarly research and information in all fields of education, from early childhood to higher ed, including educational specialty fields (e.g. multilingual education, health education, testing), curriculum instruction, administration, policy, funding, and related social issues. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 2,200 journals and full text for over 1,300 journals, over 1900 conference papers, and over 550 books and monographs. This resource is licensed by BadgerLink/Department of Public Instruction for use by all Wisconsin residents.
- ERICERIC (the Educational Resource Information Center) indexes more than 1.3 million bibliographic records in education research and resources. Materials include journal articles (the majority peer-reviewed), books, research syntheses, conference papers, technical reports, policy papers, and others. Over 20% of ERIC records link to the full-text article. The ERIC website currently indexes approx. 1000 education journals http://eric.ed.gov/?journals, including citations from the former print indexes, Current Index of Journals in Education (CIJE) and Resources in Education Index (REI). ERIC also indexes non-journal or grey literature from more than 760 sources such as non-profit organizations, professional associations, state agencies, Federal agencies, etc. This resource is licensed by BadgerLink/Department of Public Instruction for use by all Wisconsin residents. - ProQuest Dissertations & Theses GlobalProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global includes millions of doctoral dissertations in all subject areas completed at over 700 academic institutions worldwide. Some masters theses are also included. The coverage is quite comprehensive for North American works, with significant and growing international coverage due to expanding partnerships with international universities and national associations. The database offers full text PDF format for most of the dissertations added since 1997, and strong retrospective full-text coverage for older works. Twenty-four page previews are often available. Citations for dissertations published from 1980 forward include 350-word abstracts written by the author; citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. Simple citations are available for dissertations dating from 1637. In addition to local print and online copies, there are options for borrowing or purchasing titles in various formats, see Find Dissertations Info for more information. - ScopusScopus is a multidisciplinary abstract and citation database that covers science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities.
- Social Work AbstractsSocial Work Abstracts contains citations and abstracts to articles from more than 450 journals in the areas of the social work profession, theory and practice, areas of service, social issues, and social problems. (Updated semi-annually)

- Sociological AbstractsThe Sociological Abstracts database indexes and abstracts 2,000 worldwide journals in sociology.
- Web of Science (formerly Web of Knowledge)The Web of Science is a combination of three databases: Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index. It indexes more than 8,000 peer-reviewed journals, providing complete bibliographic data and author abstracts. Every item of significance is listed: articles, reviews, letters, notes, corrections, and editorials. In addition to access by author, title, and institution, it is also possible to search by cited authors and to find articles sharing one or more cited reference. It is possible to search the three databases independently or in any combination. Live links to electronic journals with full text are included for some publishers.
