Journal Article Databases
Here are a few links to databases that cover education and technology. Searching these databases will allow you to find journal articles on various topics.
- Academic Search PremierAcademic Search Premier is a multidisciplinary database that provides full text for more than 4,600 journals, including approximately 3,900 peer-reviewed titles. A total of 8,500 journals are indexed and abstracted. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for over 100 journals and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. This resource is licensed by BadgerLink/Department of Public Instruction for use by all Wisconsin residents. (Updated daily)
- Education Research CompleteEducation Research Complete is a bibliographic and full-text database covering scholarly research and information in all fields of education, from early childhood to higher ed, including educational specialty fields (e.g. multilingual education, health education, testing), curriculum instruction, administration, policy, funding, and related social issues. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 2,200 journals and full text for over 1,300 journals, over 1900 conference papers, and over 550 books and monographs. This resource is licensed by BadgerLink/Department of Public Instruction for use by all Wisconsin residents.
- ERICERIC (the Educational Resource Information Center) indexes more than 1.3 million bibliographic records in education research and resources. Materials include journal articles (the majority peer-reviewed), books, research syntheses, conference papers, technical reports, policy papers, and others. Over 20% of ERIC records link to the full-text article. The ERIC website currently indexes approx. 1000 education journals http://eric.ed.gov/?journals, including citations from the former print indexes, Current Index of Journals in Education (CIJE) and Resources in Education Index (REI). ERIC also indexes non-journal or grey literature from more than 760 sources such as non-profit organizations, professional associations, state agencies, Federal agencies, etc. This resource is licensed by BadgerLink/Department of Public Instruction for use by all Wisconsin residents. - Professional Development CollectionThe database provides a highly specialized collection of electronic information especially for professional educators. This collection offers information on everything from children's health and development to cutting-edge pedagogical theory and practice. This resource is licensed by BadgerLink/Department of Public Instruction for use by all Wisconsin residents.
- PsycINFOThis database from the American Psychological Association (APA) contains more than three million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations and technical reports, all in the field of psychology, behavioral science and mental health. It also includes information about the psychological aspects of related disciplines such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business and law, some summaries dating back to the 1600s. Journal coverage, which spans from 1800s to present, includes international material selected from around 2,500 periodicals in dozens of languages. (Updated weekly)
