Identify Scholarly Articles

In this course you will need to find scholarly articles (also referred to as scientific articles or peer-reviewed articles) to use in your research.  Scholarly articles are written by researchers or experts in a field in order to share the results of their original research or analysis with other researchers and students. It can sometimes be challenging to distinguish scholarly articles from other types of literature, such as science journalism, conference proceedings, or book chapters.

Understand the Peer Review Process

Scholarly articles undergo a peer review process before they are published. This means that experts in the field are invited by the journal editors to review the quality of the article, and make suggestions for improvements before publication.
