Index to Legal Periodicals Fulltext
Indexes law journals and provides the fulltext for some of them. Of the legal databases, this is the easiest to use if you are not familiar with legal periodicals.
Lexis-Nexis
To find the law journals/law reviews section of Lexis-Nexis, select the "Legal" tab, and then put your search terms in the search box. The results will display chronologically. You may want to re-sort by relevance before examining the results. Once you are in an article, your search term(s) will be highlighted in red. Coverage generally begins in the 1980s or 1990s.
Hein Online Law Journal Library
Hein Online goes back earlier than Lexis-Nexis -- to the earliest issues of of the law journals included. This is especially useful for looking at treatment of gays and lesbians before the Gay Rights era (use "homosexuals" in your search).
LGBT Life with Fulltext
Fulltext of numerous LGBT periodicals and books, plus indexing of hundreds more.Good choice for any LGBT topic.
UW Resources
The Campus LGBT Center has a library (whose records are all in Madcat). The Center's website links to many other campus organizations.
The UW System Inclusivity Initiative for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning People promotes the success of all UWS students, staff, and faculty and supports the development and dissemination of new knowledge concerning LGBTQ people and issues

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
Works on a wide range of issues: aging, the anti-gay industry, bisexuality, elections/politics, faith, health & HIV/AIDS, marriage/partner recognition, nondiscrimination, parenting & family, racial and economic justice, transgender, youth, and hate crimes. The site can be searched under each of these categories. For Task Force publications, go to the Reports & Research page and either use the search on that page or scroll through the list of reports at the bottom.
International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission
Site includes reports, press releases, and alerts/

Forge (For Ourselves: Reworking Gender Expression) is a national transsexual/transgender education and advocacy organization based in Milwaukee. FORGE is producing a "Guide for Milwaukee LGBT Crime Victims," available at Pridefest in June, 2009.
