About This Guide

This Research Guide focuses on Title IX, a section of the 1972 Education Amendments which prohibits sex discrimination in federally-funded education, including in sports. The guide includes resources which provide an introduction to Title IX, an overview of its implementation, and discussions of its impact and effectiveness.
