- American Association for the Advancement of Science An international non-profit organization dedicated to advancing science around the world by serving as an educator, leader, spokesperson and professional association.
- American Fisheries Society The American Fisheries Society (AFS) is the world's oldest and largest organization dedicated to strengthening the fisheries profession, advancing fisheries science, and conserving fisheries resources.
- American Geological Institute The American Geological Institute is a nonprofit federation of 45 geoscientific and professional associations that represents more than 120,000 geologists, geophysicists, and other earth scientists.
- American Geophysical Union AGU's Vision is a worldwide scientific community that advances, through unselfish cooperation in research, an understanding of Earth and space that is used for the benefit of humanity.
- American Institute of Hydrology The AIH is the only nationwide organization that offers certification to qualified professionals in all fields of the hydrological sciences. The AIH certification process involves peer-review and testing.
- American Society of Civil Engineers Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 133,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide, and is America's oldest national engineering society.
- American Society of Limnology and Oceanography For more than 50 years, ASLO has been a leading professional organization for researchers and educators in the field of aquatic science, working to provide for their needs at all phases of professional development.
- American Water Resources Association Founded in 1964, the American Water Resources Association is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the advancement of men and women in water resources management, research, and education.
- American Water Works Association AWWA is the authoritative resource on safe water, providing knowledge, information and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of water in North America and beyond.
- Association of American State Geologists Founded in 1908, AASG seeks to advance the science and practical application of geology and related earth sciences in the United States and its territories, commonwealths, and possessions.
- Association of State Drinking Water Administrators Professional Association serving state drinking water programs. Formed in 1984 to address a growing need for state administrators to have national representation, it has become a respected voice for state primacy agents with Congress and others.
- Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation A private, nonprofit non partisan organization. The Federation was created in 1971, when the members of two older, regionally-based estuarine research societies decided that a national organization was needed to address estuarine and coastal issues.
- Geological Society of America Established in 1888, The Geological Society of America provides access to elements that are essential to the professional growth of earth scientists at all levels of expertise and from all sectors: academic, government, business, and industry.
- Groundwater Protection Council A nonprofit (501(c)6) organization whose members consist of state ground water regulatory agencies which come together within the GWPC organization to mutually work toward the protection of the nation’s ground water supplies.
- International Association for Great Lakes Research A scientific organization made up of researchers studying the Laurentian Great Lakes, other large lakes of the world, and their watersheds, as well as those with an interest in such research.
- National Ground Water Association Hallmark organization for anyone affiliated with the groundwater industry. A nonprofit organization comprised of more than 13,000 U.S. and international groundwater professionals—contractors, scientists, engineers, equipment manufacturers and suppliers.
- North American Lake Management Society The purpose of the Society is to forge partnerships among citizens, scientists, and professionals to foster the management and protection of lakes and reservoirs for today and tomorrow.
- Society of Wetland Scientists An international organization of about 3,500 members dedicated to fostering sound wetland science, education, and management.
- Soil and Water Conservation Society A nonprofit scientific and educational organization -- founded in 1943 -- that serves as an advocate for conservation professionals and for science-based conservation practice, programs, and policy.
- Water Environment Federation WEF works to provide its members, public officials and the general public with the necessary tools to engage in or learn ways to improve quality of life through the sustainable management of water resources, water protection, and wastewater treatment.
