Free Online Grant Search Tools
- Funds Net ServicesThis Fundraising & Grants Directory is provided at no cost to visitors. Since 1996 Fundsnet Services has provided Grantwriting & Fundraising resource information to those in need of funding for their programs & initiatives. Opportunities are browse-able by category - or you can search the entire site using the box in the upper right corner.
- Grants.govBilled as the place to find and apply to government grants, this resource can be difficult to use in identifying what is available. Instead, visit individual agency web sites and/or use the resources below to find grants – then use grants.gov to apply. This site also includes grant opportunities notices posted in the most recent seven days, links to grant application packages, resources such as proposal writing information.
- GuidestarContains descriptions of and financial data on over 860,000 nonprofit organization. Information is compiled from tax returns filed with the Internal Revenue Service, and includes each charity's assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenditures. Provides access to 990-PF tax returns, which itemize grants given by private foundations. Maintained by Philanthropic Research, a nonprofit group in Williamsburg, Virginia.Access: Internet-based, free for 990 searching and basic profiles. Extra features available only through subscription.
- NYFA Source (New York Foundation for the Arts)NYFA Source is an extensive database of awards, services and publications for artists of all disciplines including dance, folk, traditional, media, performance, interdisciplinary, visual, music, literature, theater, and arts management.
- Small Business Administration GrantsThe majority of grantmakers in the US do NOT give grants to for-profit enterprises. The US's Small Business Administration, however, does offer some very specific grant opportunities which you can learn about here.
