U.S. Government Publications at the University of Wisconsin-Madison : Technical Reports

How to find U.S. government publications at University of Wisconsin-Madison libraries.

Technical Reports

What is a Technical Report?

Technical reports publish the results of scientific or technical research, often using federal funds. The research is performed and reports are produced by companies, universities and government laboratories.

The UW-Madison Libraries have a substantial collection of technical reports in print and microfiche, and the Libraries subscribe to several databases that provide access to thousands of technical reports.

  • UW-Madison Libraries have functioned as an Atomic Energy Commission depository since 1963, with a comprehensive collection of AEC, ERDA and DOE reports in microfiche.
  • The Libraries also have a large collection of NTIS, Dept of Defense, and NASA reports on microfiche.

See the Technical Reports Research Guide for information on
