- UW Writing Center Writer's Handbook: APA Documentation GuideThe UW Writing Center's Writer's Handbook is an online resource aimed at helping students through the process of writing assignments. It includes examples and guidelines for various citation formats including APA.
- Online Writing Lab (OWL) APA Formatting and Style GuideAPA (American Psychological Association) style is most commonly used to cite sources within the social sciences. This resource, revised according to the 6th edition, second printing of the APA manual, offers examples for the general format of APA research papers, in-text citations, endnotes/footnotes, and the reference page. For more information, please consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, (6th ed., 2nd printing).
Citation Managers
Citation managers are a critical tools for keeping your research organized. In addition to their organizational features, citation managers are designed to help you format bibliographies and in-text citations when you write. Features of most citation managers include:
- Import citations from most of the places you will find them (library catalog, databases, Google Scholar)
- Store notes about readings
- Create tags for readings/citations
- Store PDFs of articles
- Format bibliographies and in-text citations according to the rules of a specific style, like APA
